Free clips are up to 500 characters, with no sign-up and no watermark. Longer scripts, voice cloning and more voices are on the paid plans.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your lines. Free clips are up to 500 characters.
  2. Leave the "Alien preset" ticked. It raises the pitch by 35 Hz and slows the voice by 20 percent. Brian is preselected; try Andrew or Eric for a different alien.
  3. Press generate, listen, and download the MP3. Untick the preset to hear the normal voice for comparison.

What does this alien voice sound like?

It is a high, slow and slightly strange voice. We take Brian, a natural male AI voice, raise his pitch a long way and slow him down. People expect a high voice to be quick and a slow voice to be deep, so a voice that is both high and slow sounds a little off, which is exactly the feeling you want from a visitor from another planet.

To be clear, it is a pitch and speed shifted AI voice. It does not have the buzzing, metallic or warbling sound that some alien voice changers add with ring modulation and filters. If you want that, generate the MP3 here and add a ring modulator, flanger or reverb in your audio or video editor.

Where an alien voice works well

  • Sci-fi short films, animations and YouTube sketches.
  • Game characters, space traders and mission briefings.
  • D&D and tabletop sci-fi campaigns, for a strange visitor or a far-off race.
  • TikTok and Shorts skits, like "an alien reviews Earth food".
  • Kids' space stories, class projects and planetarium-style fun facts.

Make your own alien

The preset works on every voice in the list, so you can build a whole crew. A female voice such as Aria or Jenny goes very high with the preset on and sounds bright and curious. A deep voice such as Christopher becomes thin and strange. If you want a big, deep alien instead, the monster voice generator or the robot voice generator is a better start.

For a two-alien conversation, make each line as its own clip with a different voice, then put them together in your video editor. A high, slow alien next to a deep, robotic one makes a funny pair for a skit, and it helps viewers tell the characters apart without seeing them.

Write in a slightly formal, outsider way. Aliens often sound funny or eerie because they describe normal things as if they have never seen them: "the glowing rectangle", "the round food", "one rotation of your planet".

Tips for a better alien voice text to speech

  • Use short sentences with full stops; the slow pace makes each one land.
  • Invent names that are easy to say, like "Ninth Orbit" or "Zarn", and test them first.
  • Avoid long words packed together. Simple words stay clear even at a high pitch.
  • Add "Greetings." or "Transmission ends." as its own sentence for a sci-fi feel.

What it does and does not do

  • It reads your text in a high, slow, alien-style AI voice and gives you an MP3.
  • It changes only the voice, pitch and speed. There is no ring modulation, metallic, warble, echo or other effect.
  • It is not a voice changer, so it does not change your own voice or an uploaded recording.
  • It does not copy any alien from a film, show or game.

Frequently asked questions

Is the alien voice generator free?

Yes. You can try it with no sign-up: free clips are up to 500 characters, with an MP3 download. Longer text and more generations need an account or a plan; see the pricing page.

How is the alien voice made?

The preset raises the pitch of the chosen AI voice by 35 Hz and slows it by 20 percent. That high-but-slow mix sounds unusual and otherworldly.

Can I get a metallic or buzzing alien voice?

Not in this tool. It gives a pitch and speed shifted voice without effects. Add a ring modulator or flanger to the downloaded MP3 in an editor for that sound.

Can I make a deep alien voice?

Yes. Use the monster or robot voice generator instead. Both use deep presets that suit big, scary or machine-like aliens.

Can I use it in videos?

Yes, you can use the audio you generate in your own videos and projects.

Need more than a short clip?

The free box above is capped at 500 characters per clip. If you need longer scripts (up to 5,000 characters per generation), voice cloning or higher-quality voices, take a look at the plans. Nothing here is required to use the free tool.
