How it works

  1. Type or paste your script. Free clips are up to 500 characters.
  2. Leave the "Scary preset" ticked. It lowers the pitch by 50 Hz and slows the speed by 30 percent on any voice. Christopher is preselected; Guy is a good second choice.
  3. Press generate, listen, and download the MP3. Untick the preset to hear the normal voice for comparison.

What does this scary voice sound like?

It is a deep, slow and eerie voice: low enough to sound menacing, slow enough to build tension. It comes from a normal AI voice with the pitch turned all the way down and the speed slowed.

There is no whisper, growl, echo or demon effect. For extra horror, add reverb or a low drone to the MP3 in your audio or video editor.

How to write lines that sound scary

  • Use short sentences and full stops. Pauses are where the fear lives.
  • Repeat a word or count slowly: "One. Two. Three."
  • Speak to the listener directly: "I am watching you."
  • End on a twist line, like "And now, neither will you."
  • Try a female voice such as Aria with the preset on for a different kind of creepy.

Where a scary voice works well

  • Halloween parties, doorbells and front-yard speakers.
  • Haunted houses, escape rooms and trick-or-treat props.
  • Horror stories and creepypasta narration on YouTube and TikTok.
  • Horror game characters and narrators.
  • Harmless pranks on friends who like a good scare.

What this tool does and does not do

  • It reads your text in a deep, slow, scary voice and gives you an MP3.
  • It does not add sound effects, music, whispers or echo, and it does not change the voice in a recording you upload.
  • It does not copy any horror movie villain or real person. The voices are standard AI voices.
  • Keep it fun: do not use it to threaten or frighten people for real.

Frequently asked questions

Is the scary voice generator free?

Yes. The box is free with no sign-up and no watermark, up to 500 characters per clip. Longer scripts, voice cloning and more voices are on the paid plans.

How is the scary voice made?

The preset lowers the pitch of the chosen AI voice by 50 Hz and slows it by 30 percent. That gives a deep, slow and eerie read.

Can I use it for Halloween decorations?

Yes. Download the MP3 and play it from a phone, a Bluetooth speaker or a prop with a sound module.

Can it sound like a famous horror villain?

No. We do not imitate characters from films, shows or games, or real people. You get your own scary voice from a standard AI voice.

Is there a whisper or demon voice?

Not yet. The scary preset makes the voice deeper and slower. For a demon sound, add pitch-shift or reverb effects in an audio editor after you download.

Need more than a short clip?

The free box above is capped at 500 characters per clip. If you need longer scripts (up to 5,000 characters per generation), voice cloning or higher-quality voices, take a look at the plans. Nothing here is required to use the free tool.
