Free clips are up to 500 characters, with no sign-up and no watermark. Longer scripts, voice cloning and more voices are on the paid plans.
A greeting works best when it is short, clear and tells the caller exactly what to do next. Most people decide within a few seconds whether to leave a message, so get to the point.
Many business phone systems and VoIP services (virtual numbers, office phone platforms, call forwarding apps) let you upload an audio file as your greeting. Look for a setting called greeting, announcement, voicemail prompt or auto attendant, and upload the MP3 you downloaded here.
Mobile carriers differ. Some let you record a greeting only through the phone itself. In that case you can play your generated audio from a second device near the phone while you record, or check whether your carrier or voicemail app accepts file uploads. If you are not sure, check your provider's help pages first.
Yes. The text to speech box on this page is free with no sign-up. Each clip can be up to 500 characters, which is enough for a typical greeting. Longer scripts are available on the paid plans.
You can download the audio and upload it to any phone system that accepts MP3 greetings. Check your phone provider for the file formats it supports. If it needs WAV, a free audio converter will do the job.
Yes. Pick another language in the box, such as Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Arabic or Chinese, then write your greeting in that language and choose one of the voices listed for it.
Free clips are limited to 500 characters, roughly 30 seconds of speech. Most greetings are shorter than that. If you need more, the paid plans raise the limit to 5,000 characters per generation.
The free box above is capped at 500 characters per clip. If you need longer scripts (up to 5,000 characters per generation), voice cloning or higher-quality voices, take a look at the plans. Nothing here is required to use the free tool.
