How it works

  2. Leave the "Deep voice preset" ticked. It lowers the pitch by 25 Hz and slows the speed by 10 percent on any voice. Christopher is preselected; Guy and Eric also go deep well.
  3. Press generate, listen, and download the MP3. Untick the preset to hear the normal voice for comparison.

How deep does it go?

The preset takes a natural AI voice and lowers its pitch by 25 Hz, then slows it a little so it sounds calm and weighty instead of rushed. On Christopher, that is a clearly lower voice that still sounds human.

It is not a bass-boost, growl or monster effect. For a darker, creepier sound try the scary voice generator, and for a dramatic trailer read try the movie trailer voice generator.

Tips for a deeper, richer read

  • Start from a male news voice (Christopher, Guy or Eric): they are already low before the preset.
  • Use short sentences and full stops. A deep voice sounds best with room to breathe.
  • Put the most important word at the end of the sentence.
  • Want it even lower? Add bass in your audio or video editor after you download.
