Free clips are up to 500 characters, with no sign-up and no watermark. Longer scripts, voice cloning and more voices are on the paid plans.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your creature's lines. Free clips are up to 500 characters.
  2. Leave the "Monster preset" ticked. It lowers the pitch by 55 Hz and slows the voice by 10 percent. Guy is preselected; Roger gives a rougher creature.
  3. Press generate, listen, and download the MP3. Untick the preset to hear the normal voice.

What does this monster voice sound like?

It is a very deep, heavy voice for big creatures: trolls, giants, ogres, beasts and dark lords. It comes from a standard AI voice with the pitch dropped a long way and the speed slowed a little, so it stays clear enough to follow.

It does not growl, roar or snarl, and it adds no distortion or echo. If you want those, download the MP3 and add them in an audio or video editor.

Monster voice vs scary voice

The scary voice generator is slower and creepier, made for Halloween, haunted houses and creepypasta. This page is for creature characters: a big, booming voice for the troll at the bridge, the giant on the mountain or the boss at the end of the level. For a small goblin or gremlin, try the cartoon or funny voice generator instead.

Tips for a better monster voice

  • Use short, heavy sentences: "Choose. Now."
  • Add "..." between words for slow, threatening pauses.
  • Give your creature simple words. Monsters rarely say "approximately".
  • Try Roger or Christopher with the preset on for a different creature.
  • Layer a growl or rumble under the MP3 in your editor for extra weight.

Where a monster voice works well

  • D&D and tabletop sessions: trolls, ogres, dragons and villains for your players.
  • Indie games: boss fights, NPC creatures and level intros.
  • Animations, comics with sound and short films.
  • Kids' stories with a friendly monster under the bed.
  • Halloween yard props and party games.

Frequently asked questions

Is the monster voice generator free?

Yes. The box is free with no sign-up and no watermark, up to 500 characters per clip, with an MP3 download. Longer scripts and more voices are on the paid plans.

How is the monster voice made?

The preset lowers the pitch of a standard AI voice by 55 Hz and slows it by 10 percent. That gives a huge, deep creature voice that is still easy to understand.

Can it growl, roar or sound demonic?

No. It reads your words in a very deep voice without effects. Add growls, roars, pitch effects or reverb to the MP3 in an audio editor.

How is this different from the scary voice generator?

The scary voice is slow and creepy for horror and Halloween. The monster voice is bigger and less slow, for creature characters in games, D&D and stories.

Can it sound like a famous movie monster or villain?

No. We do not imitate characters from films, shows or games. You get your own monster voice from a standard AI voice.

Can I use it for D&D, games or YouTube?

Yes, you can download the MP3 and use it in your sessions, games and videos. Check each platform's rules on labelling AI-generated audio.

Need more than a short clip?

The free box above is capped at 500 characters per clip. If you need longer scripts (up to 5,000 characters per generation), voice cloning or higher-quality voices, take a look at the plans. Nothing here is required to use the free tool.
